Neck Pain Is Something That No One Wants

By Clayton Thom Munhall

Living with neck pain is something no one would want anyone else to live with. It is hard to live with because it is an integral part of the body. Overcoming the discomfort is part of what one needs to do. Many ways are available to do this the approach one would take depends their needs. The head and shoulder area gets strained and may some help in getting better.

Since the head weighs about ten or twelve pounds, it must always stay back a few inches when walking, talking, typing on a computer keyboard and other activities. If one bends it forward a little bit, the neck will suffer. This is where the discomfort can start. Finding good posture is important so one does not get into this situation. If one has forward head posture of just a couple inches it can make the neck an upper back feel as though they are carrying about thirty pounds of weight on that area.

The chiropractors in the United States are available to help relieve some discomfort for patients who have issues. That is their job and what they go to school for. Looking at the spine and it's alignment each is part of the work that they do. This alternative way of looking at the body makes them be better healers.

Alternative medicine has the advantage that it treats the patient in a whole way with a mind, body, and spirit. This is more effective for many people. There are benefits to going the alternative way.

One out of three Americans cope with this discomfort at some point. A typical medical approach will usually prescribe medication for the discomfort instead of manipulating the area. Studies have been conducted where a group of patients who took medicine had a thirty-three percent improvement in symptoms whereas fifty-seven percent of the group that had manipulation done had a significantly larger reduction in pain. It was also reported that the discomfort stopped for twelve full weeks.

This is much better for them short and long-term. The manipulation group was studied one year later and still showed signs of improvement. They had a seventy-five percent decrease in symptoms. This can be quite freeing for many people who live with this discomfort for many years.

One hundred and eighty three people were in a group that had their body manipulated by a professional. They did this instead of going to a doctor who prescribed medications and counseled them. This way of healing is the most beneficial, but it is not the most traditional or popular as many people still pick their medical doctor over an alternative doctor.

Having neck pain is very difficult to live with. It can almost be shocking to be free of it when you are so used to it. No one would want to live with discomfort like this. It is not pleasant so overcoming it as soon as possible would be the ultimate experience and goal.
